Overview
A connection is a saved link between nuwacom and an external tool. Connecting a tool such as Google Calendar, HubSpot, or Slack creates a connection that stores the access needed to work with that service. Each connection belongs to the person who created it. By default it is private: only the owner can see and use it, and actions run with the owner’s own access rights in the external service.Authentication Types
How you connect depends on the Connector.OAuth
Most popular Connectors use OAuth, the industry-standard protocol for secure authorization:- nuwacom sends you to the service’s login page, for example Google or Microsoft.
- Sign in with your own account.
- Approve the requested permissions.
- nuwacom stores the access securely.
API key / token
Some Connectors, especially custom ones, are set up with an API key or token. Copy it from the service’s settings and paste it into nuwacom when connecting.Reconnecting
If a connection has expired or been revoked, its account shows a warning icon with the note Connection issue. Reconnect the account to restore access.Who Can Use a Connection
Private by default
A new connection is shown as Private account:- Only the owner can see and use it.
- Actions run with the owner’s access rights.
- Credentials are never shown to other users.
Sharing an account
The owner can share an account from Settings → Connectors:- Find the account in the list.
- Select the share icon next to it (Share {account name}).
- Choose who gets access: specific users, user groups, or all workspace users.
Using a Default Account in an Agent
You can let other people run a Connector action with a specific account without sharing the account itself. They can use it only through the agent. They never see its credentials.Configure it
- Open Agents in the sidebar and open or create an agent.
- In Actions, select Add action and choose the Connector action.
- Select Select default account.
- Choose the account and select Add action.
- Publish the agent and share it with the people who should use it.
The two modes
- Select default account: One account is used for everyone who runs the action. Whatever the user’s own accounts are, the action runs with this account’s access.
- Every user must use their own account (advanced): Each person uses their own account. People who have not connected yet are asked to connect.
Examples
- Default account: A “Team Calendar Agent” uses a shared team calendar. When any colleague uses it, the event lands in the team calendar.
- Own account: A “Personal Email Agent” sends mail from each user’s own mailbox, using their own connection.
Apps
Apps always run with the connected accounts of the person who opens them. Your own connected accounts stay private and are never used by people you share an app with.Choosing the Right Approach
