Beyond core configuration, the Agent Builder provides several features to organize agents across your workspace and improve the user experience when starting a conversation.

Categories

Categories are tags that help organize and find agents. Assigning a category to an agent makes it easier to understand its purpose at a glance and filter the agent library efficiently.

Applying a Category to an Agent

A category is set during agent creation or at any point in edit mode:
  1. Open the agent in edit mode.
  2. Navigate to the identity section (Avatar, Name, Description, and Category).
  3. Select a category that matches the agent’s purpose.
The category is saved immediately and appears on the agent card in the library.

Filtering by Category

When browsing agents, the category appears on each agent card. Use it to quickly identify agents by domain or function, particularly in workspaces with a large number of agents.

Pinning Agents

Pinned agents appear in the sidebar for quick access. This is useful for agents used frequently, so they are always reachable without searching.

How to Pin an Agent

  1. Find the agent in the agent library or search results.
  2. Open the three-dot menu on the agent card.
  3. Select Pin to sidebar.
To unpin an agent, open the same menu and select Unpin from sidebar.

Accessing Pinned Agents

Pinned agents appear directly in the navigation sidebar. Pinning is personal to each user account and does not affect how the agent appears to other workspace members.

Agent Duplication

Duplicating an agent creates an independent copy that can be modified without affecting the original. This is useful for creating variations of an existing agent or using another agent as a starting point.

How to Duplicate an Agent

  1. Find the agent in the agent library.
  2. Open the three-dot menu on the agent card.
  3. Select Duplicate.
The copy opens in edit mode. The duplicating user becomes the owner of the new agent.

What Gets Copied

When an agent is duplicated, the following configuration is carried over to the new copy:
  • Name (with “Copy” appended)
  • Instructions
  • Avatar, description, and category
  • Actions and connected integrations
  • Knowledge sources
  • Agent start options, including conversation starters and welcome message
  • Settings (AI model, language style, response style)

What Does Not Get Copied

  • Sharing settings: the duplicate starts as a private agent owned by the duplicating user
  • Usage statistics: the copy starts with no usage history

Conversation Starters

Conversation starters are pre-defined prompts that appear when a user opens an agent. They guide users toward effective interactions and help showcase what the agent can do.

What They Are

Conversation starters appear as clickable prompts on the agent start screen. Instead of typing a message from scratch, users select one of these prompts to begin the conversation. Up to 4 conversation starters are displayed at a time, selected randomly from the configured set. They are particularly useful for:
  • Demonstrating the agent’s capabilities to new users
  • Guiding users toward common and high-value use cases
  • Reducing friction at the start of a conversation
  • Ensuring consistent, well-structured initial prompts

How to Configure Them

Conversation starters are configured in the Agent Builder under the agent start options:
  1. Open the agent in edit mode.
  2. Navigate to the start options section.
  3. Select Conversation Starters as the start type.
  4. Add starter prompts via + Add Prompt. A welcome message can also be configured here.

Best Practices

  • Write starters that reflect specific, realistic use cases rather than generic prompts.
  • Cover a range of tasks the agent handles, not just the most common one.
  • Keep starters concise so they are easy to read and select.
  • Update starters over time based on how users actually interact with the agent.
