# Draft Email Replies

[Wistia video](https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/trq5jndlxd?seo=true\&videoFoam=true)

## Introduction

nuwacom can draft replies to unread emails using a connected email source and information from the Knowledge Base. Select a voice in Chat to apply its writing style. The generated replies appear in the chat for review and can then be copied into the email client.

## Key Benefits

* **Draft replies:** Generate a response to each unread email in one prompt.
* **Use company knowledge:** Base replies on relevant content from the enabled Knowledge Base.
* **Apply a voice:** Use a saved voice to guide the wording of each reply.

## Use Cases

Prepare replies to prospect and customer questions, handle recurring inbound requests, or draft responses to several unread emails. Review each reply and verify its details before sending.

## How It Works

### Step 1: Connect your email provider

By connecting your email provider messages in your inbox become accesible for nuwacom. In **Settings**, open **Connectors** and connect Microsoft Outlook or Gmail.

### Step 2: Set up your voice

Create a voice with **Voice Creator** in Settings if not yet created. In Chat, select the saved voice to apply its writing style to the replies.

### Step 3: Toggle on the relevant sources

In Chat, enable the connected email source and the Knowledge Base and other sources nuwacom should draw on. The email source provides the messages to answer; the Knowledge Base provides relevant context for the drafts.

### Step 4: Prompt

With the the correct voice and relevant sources activated, nuwacom can start drafting replies. Usually a simple prompt is sufficient, if a specific structure is desired, specify it directly in the prompt.

Example prompt:

```text theme={null}
Draft replies that help me respond to my unread emails from today inquiring about [topic]
```

nuwacom identifies the unread messages and drafts a response to each.

### Step 5: Refine and adjust the results

Chat returns a reply draft for each message and lists any open points that require manual review. Check the facts and wording, then copy the approved text into the email client and send it there.

## Pro-Tips

> [card] Build an Agent to save drafts to inbox.
>
> Chat drafts the reply as text that you copy into your email program. To place a finished draft straight into your inbox, build an Agent instead: unlike Chat, Agents have write access and can perform actions in connected systems if configured correctly.

> [card] Turn the flow into a reusable App or build a workflow
>
> Package the whole process checking the inbox, selecting sources, and drafting into an App or a workflow that triggers automatically.

> [card] Always review before sending
>
> Drafts should be verified for veracity and against the flagged gaps before sending.

## FAQ

> [accordion] Which email providers can be connected?
>
> Microsoft Outlook and Gmail are the main available connectors. If your provider offers an MCP it can be connected manually.

> [accordion] Can nuwacom send the emails for me?
>
> The email connector creates drafts rather than sending directly. Review and send the reply from your email program. To write a draft straight into your inbox, use an Agent or a nuwacom app.

> [accordion] Where does nuwacom get the context for the replies?
>
> From the sources you enable, primarily the Knowledge Base, so responses are grounded in your team's own information.

> [accordion] Do I need to set up a voice every time?
>
> No. A voice is created once with the Voice Creator and then selected in the chat whenever it is needed.
