# Create Documents

[Create documents](https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/073lzhmuki?seo=true\&videoFoam=true)

## Introduction

The *Create Documents* use case combines a short instruction with relevant Knowledge Base content to generate an editable document directly in the workspace. The finished document can be reviewed, adjusted, saved, and shared with the team.

## Key Benefits

* **Create documents faster:** Generate a finished document from a short instruction and relevant workspace knowledge.
* **Use relevant context:** Ground documents in selected sources such as the Knowledge Base and calendar.
* **Continue working in the workspace:** Edit, save, share, and reuse the generated document without leaving nuwacom.

## Use Cases

Use *Create Documents* to produce internal announcements, memos, product one-pagers, FAQ pages, onboarding notes, and short fact sheets based on relevant internal context.

## How it works

### Step 1: Open the Create Documents use case

Select *Create Documents* at the bottom of the interface. The use case opens with suggestions and templates that provide a starting point for the document.

### Step 2: Set the audience, tone, and language

Select the intended audience, tone, and language at the top of the interface. For example, configure the document for internal team members, use a friendly tone, and select English.

These settings determine how the generated document is structured and phrased.

### Step 3: Select relevant sources

Enable the sources that should provide context for the document, such as the entire Knowledge Base or the calendar.

The selected sources give the AI access to relevant internal information, including brand guidelines, responsibilities, and specification sheets.

### Step 4: Enter the instruction

Describe the required document and its purpose.

**Example: Product launch one-pager**

```text theme={null}
Create a one-pager that informs the team about the launch of the new bike.
```

The AI generates the document in the background and refines the content automatically.

### Step 5: Open and adjust the document

Open the generated document and edit its content directly. The document incorporates information from the selected Knowledge Base sources.

### Step 6: Share and save the document

Select *Share* to provide access to all workspace users or selected users, then save the current version. After the document is closed, it remains available in the Knowledge Base. Further changes can be made by starting a new chat with the document.

## Pro tips

> **Select focused sources**
>
> Enable the sources that contain the most relevant information for the document. Focused source selection helps the generated content reflect the required brand guidelines, responsibilities, and specifications.

> **Define the purpose clearly**
>
> Include the document type, intended audience, and purpose in the instruction. A specific instruction gives the AI a clear structure and communication goal.

> **Continue in a new chat**
>
> Start a new chat with the saved document when extensive revisions or a new version are required.
